Dual-Wall Adhesive Heat Shrink for Sealing

Cutaway of adhesive-lined dual-wall heat-shrink tube showing melt adhesive flowing and sealing a cable joint against water

Single-wall tubing insulates. When the joint must also be sealed against water, corrosion and tracking, you need the adhesive-lined dual-wall build.

How it works

dual-wall and 3:1 / 4:1 dual-wall have an inner melt-adhesive layer. On heating, the adhesive flows into every gap and bonds to the substrate, blocking moisture.

When to specify it

Outdoor, buried, washed-down or chemically exposed joints and splices. Also where vibration could pump moisture into a single-wall seal over time.

Ratio choice

2:1 for modest steps; 3:1 or 4:1 where the sleeve must pass a bulky connector and recover onto a thin wire. See the full rating set under products by performance.

Frequently asked questions

What does the adhesive do?

It melts and seals the gap against moisture and corrosion.

2:1 or 3:1 dual-wall?

2:1 for small steps; 3:1/4:1 where the sleeve covers a bulky connector.

Is it waterproof?

When correctly recovered, the adhesive liner makes the joint environmentally sealed.
